Programme of Events
A Talk on Maps with particular emphasis on Tithes Maps..... Please note the change of date!! Now 2 pm on February 21st at the Somerset Heritage Centre
This will be an introductory talk on tithe maps, examples of maps, seeing how repairing maps is done, looking at map storage and seeing a demonstration of the tithe map digitisation process. Tithe maps are an extensive and very important resource, often underused. The awards to which these maps refer are a very important part of what the Friends members do and this is a 'must' meeting!!
April 24th .- A talk by Julia Wood, the Wells City Archivist featuring examples of remarkable archives from both the City of Wells and from the Wells Museum . A tour of the archives is included. There is limited space so only the first 20 applicants can be accepted with the first tour (for ten people) at 2 pm before the talk at 2.30 with the second tour (for another ten) after the talk at 3.30pm.
Other events in the planning process for this year:

War Memorials and how to research them.
This is just an outline of what we have planned. More details to follow.
